All good things . . .

August 24, 2010

Hello, loyal Postrock Show listeners. I have loved putting on the Postrock Show for you these past many months, but—as all good things do—The Postrock Show has to come to an end.

I love postrock music in its many forms and incarnations, but unfortunately my personal life has become increasingly complicated over the previous months, and as a result I feel I can no longer produce a weekly music show. This has not been an easy decision to make. But it is the decision that had to be made, and I think it is the right thing to do.

When the show started, I had every intention of continuing it for years to come, steadily improving it to the point of eventually being a cultural hub for all things postrock. But as my personal pressures have increased, my ability to create a quality show each week—along with accompanying links, news, videos, etc.—has decreased.

I hope that one day I may be able to resurrect The Postrrock Show in some way, shape, or form—perhaps on UtahFM or on another internet radio station or as a podcast. To wit, I’ll let you know that I may create “special” shows from time to time on random days or at random times as my schedule and UtahFM’s schedule allows. And I’ll let you know about these shows whenever possible. But the Postrock Show as weekly ear candy has been suspended indefinitely.

Until that time when the Postrock Show can rise from the dead, thank you for listening and supporting the show. Postrock is not dead.

Sorry to hear it, but such is life. I appreciate the effort you’ve put forth, and have found some great new bands thanks to your show. Here’s hoping you can return at some point in the future! Good luck with whatever has decided to complicate things 🙂
